RCSI invested in the region of €11 million in the upgrading work, which includes
A new student concourse with a fully-catered café; a series of large flexible multi-functional tutorial rooms with state-of-the-art AV facilities; open-plan faculty offices and meeting spaces, and new laboratory and research facilities, including a write up space for students.
A mix of broadcast and addressable DALI control was used throughout the building with a network of motion and daylight harvesting sensors managing the lighting to help reduce the buildings overall carbon footprint. The four tutorial halls have partitioned walls that can be separated to make difference size halls. The Vantage system monitors the position of the walls so when lighting scenes are selected from a local scene setting controller the system will only operates the lighting according to the position of the walls.

What We Did:
– Lighting: Linear DALI Continuous Profile in Lecture Halls
– Control: A mix of stand-alone PIR’s and a Vantage lighting control system that manages non-dimmable loads, broadcast DALI, addressable DALI.
